The Today Show in San Antonio!

The Today Show came to San Antonio on Wednesday for their "The Today Show takes a Vacation" week. Guess who went? That's right. MEEE! My friend Cecelia, her kids, my boys & I went to the show! Cecelia & I started talking about it the night before and "wished" we could go, but we didn't want to get up early to be there; thought it would be too crowded, etc. Then I called her back and said, "Let's do it!" So we went not really knowing what to expect exept for Kathie Lee Gifford & Hoda Kotb.

First we had to wake up really early. My alarm was set for 4:45. I know. It almost killed me. We left the house at 6:00. A.M.(!) After a few wrong turns and going the wrong way down a one-way street we arrived at the LaVillita outdoor theater on the Riverwalk by 7!

There was quite a crowd! It included a super annoying cheer squad (which I think must have been asked to leave), a bunch of Fiesta Royalty, a weird dude with a wig who we were so lucky to sit next to, a couple of nice ladies with Starbucks to share & one bitter housewife/mom who sat in front of us and hated my kids-like I care what she thought.

We came prepared sortof. We brought tons of snacks, drinks and a sign to hold up for the camera. The one thing I wish I had brought, was my good camera. I grabbed the old, cruddy one on my way out the door. So without further adoo, I would like to present the pictures. First up, Cecelia & Yours truly. I made a sign that said, "Kathie Lee & Hoda Deep in the Hearts of Texans!" I know, I'm such a cheeseball, but why not?! So when we got there and I held it up, guess who saw it and blew me a kiss? Yep, they did. Guess what I did. Oh yes, I did. I blew one back. I'm cringing a little as I write this. (oh yeah, it was shaped like a heart- don't die of embarrassment for me, I already did.)

Shelley Miles, a local celebrity from a daily show called San Antonio Living was there filming as well.Was there a musical guest you ask? Why of course there was.

Country music star LeeAnn Womack! She was great!

Once we got home and watched the show, we realized we made it into many of the shots! During one shot, Josh & Jules were standing right next to the ladies! Although the kids didn't enjoy sitting in the heat in the early morning and we had a little mishap on the way home with one very tired three year old Will opening the door on the freeway while we were cruising @ 70mph...it was a most exciting day!
