"Sick" of '09 Already
Before the start of every new year I sit down & transfer birthdays & anniversaries to a new calendar that hangs on the refrigerator. I know- so high tech of me. So I guess I kinda think about the each year as it relates to these milestones and looking forward each one. When I look back through the months on the old calendar, I can remember the parties we had for the kids' birthday, etc, but I also remember something else, all the major injuries & illness of last year . We had 2 broken arms (one in May (Josh); one in August (Justin)); one staple in the head (in June (Will)), & 3 cases of scarlet fever (all in December- one case per kid); not to mention Will's asthma issues (almost every month) & Josh's 7 cases of strep throat - I know... he needs his tonsils out.
So that brings me to '09. So far we have had: my good friend Christy's birthday on January 1st; Boyd's 40Th birthday Jan.2; Will's trip to the ER- for falling off my bed on his head on Jan. 5; Will's Chickenpox on Jan. 9; Will's birthday on Jan. 11; PeePaw's birthday Jan. 16; Justin's trip to the ER the night before last for croup (Jan 27 2:00am-5:30am). He's better now thanks. Now Will's asthma is acting up. Keri D.'s birthday is Jan. 30
I'm already looking forward to next month! Let's get this one over with. Here is what is on the calendar: Nana's birthday onFeb. 7; Feb. 9 I will be having a hysterectomy (sorry if that's TMI for some of you...I'm fine & will be even better when it's over with.); My dad's birthday Feb. 10 (we light a candle in his honor this year- more on that later); Our friend Tim's birthday Feb. 12; my Friend Liz's birthday Feb.15; my birthday Feb. 20 ~ although I am accepting gifts now.
Mendi's Scrapbooking Weekend with girls(!) Feb. 27-March 1 (I'm not excited for that or anything!!!!!!)
Message to my children: If it is not on the calendar... it can not happen. Everyone is to wash their hands constantly, use good personal hygiene & be extra careful while playing. Thank you, thank you very much!

Mendi! I love the family picture of y'all. Everybody looks so cute and you look gorgeous, my dear! Let's hope February has a few less "sick days"!
First things first, I love the family picture!!! You have had a lot going on in the first month of the year. Is nana your mom? If so she and Rusty share the same birthday! We need to talk about your upcoming surgery, I hope you are ok, if you need anything I am glad to help out, well somehow. Sorry about the middle of the night ER trip, those suck big time. Asthma pretty much bites the big one too! Hope eveyone sees a happier and healthier Feb-Dec of 2009! Love you guys!
