Great Smoky Mountain National Park & Cherokee, NC
The last full day we were in Tennessee, the whole crew caravaned through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park to Cherokee, North Carolina. The roads were winding and steep. Definitely not for those who get motion sickness. It was only 30 miles from Gatlinberg, but it took almost 2 hours to get through! These first shots are of our first break about half way through the park. It was beautiful.

Justin totally hates having his picture taken.

Mom, Brooke & Katrina with a Native Cherokee. My mom's grandmother was Cherokee. Mom, Dad, Heather & kids taking a break from power shopping. Will was playing peek-a-boo!The highest gas prices that we saw were in Cherokee. $4.05 Ouch! Thank goodness we were in the company car.

Mingo Falls. The best part of the day! We drove back into the park to Mingo Falls. We had to climb A LOT of steps. It wouldn't have been too tough if I didn't have a 29 pound 2 year old on my hip. We had a picnic by the falls. The boys loved climbing on the rocks & through the stream.

Aunt Kay Kay & Will watching Dad & Josh climb the falls!

Oh yeah, did I mention that it was our 9Th anniversary? Next year I hope to be kissing him in front of a waterfall in Hawaii. Hawaii every 10 years is not too much for a girl to ask for, right?

Wow- that's it! The trip home was uneventful. That's a good thing for sure. We knew we were home when the temperature gage in the car read 103. We are glad to be home with some great memories.
