It's a Girl!!

A phrase I never thought I'd hear.

Meet our little girl Gracie.

Gracie was actually a Christmas present to the boys from their Nana & Papaw. She was rescued from the pound. She only had 2 days left when Nana found her. She is a chihuahua mix, part daschund maybe. She only 2 lbs now, and will only be about 8 when she's grown. We all just love her. (Boyd is warming up to her still...but he'll come around.) I wanted a girl not only because our house is on testosterone overload, but because I need another bi___ in the house. Now I'm not quite as out numbered.

Here are the boys being surprised by her arrival on Christmas eve. That's Gracie's cousin Allie. She had to check Gracie out. She approved, but didn't want to be bothered too much with a puppy.

Christmas was wonderful. Will really understood this year what was going on. It's so amazing to see it all through their eyes. That was my gift this year- watching their excitement & joy.

We stayed in S.A. this year for Christmas eve & morning. Nana, Papaw, Shannon, Christopher & cousin Emily came for a wonderful Christmas eve dinner & morning opening gifts. Josh got a little motorcycle much to my distress. It's battery operated- don't worry too much. I got him a new helmut too.

We then packed up & went to Kingwood. We got to have Christmas dinner again at Nani & Poppa's with Aunt Karen, Uncle Rodney, Blake & Brooke.

The next day we had a Big fiesta with Uncle Stew & family.

We headed home after that & spent the rest of vacation sleeping in (a little), going to the park, renting movies, and hanging out with friends. I think everyone was ready to get back into a routine. Josh actually woke up on New Year's Day in a panic. He thought he was late for school. When I told him he didn't have school for several more day, he was disappointed! Justin was NOT ready to go back to preschool. He fussed all the way there & I had to carry him in. However, when I picked him up he told me he was, "getting married soon." He said, "Her name is Ashlyn." He doesn't go back until Friday, but I don't think he's going to put up a fight.

So... Happy New Year to everyone from me (Boyd, Josh, Justin, Will & Gracie) to you! (this one is for my dear sweet sisters who have yet to forgive me for some unflattering pictures I posted of them a year & a half ago- forgive me now seestors?)

I hope that this here 2008 is... darn great ya'll! (lol)
