"Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it."
~Ella Williams
Oh Will. He continues to be a handful. The other night, right when we were about to get the kids in bed, he had another accident. He went flying through the kitchen, slipped and hit the corner where the baseboards meet with his head. Split... and we were off to the emergency room again. He needed a staple to close it up. It is almost in the same place where he was stapled closed last summer (he fell out of the kitchen chair). He is fine now- thank the good Lord. I am okay too - now. It's so nerve-racking when one of them gets hurt!!!
SO... the next day I decided we needed to stay home & chill. Baking and decorating Easter cupcakes became the order for the day! They came out with this edible Easter grass. So we made the cupcakes look like little bird nests with a peeps on them.

Oh yummy day...

The next best thing to being clever is being able to quote someone who is.

I like that one. It's so me!! Here we go two days in a row! Woo Hoo!
Last weekend was my girls' scrap booking weekend! This all started a couple of years ago. My BFF Liz invited me to go with a group of her friends from church to this cool place in Rockport. Rockport is a neat, little town about 30 miles up the coast from Corpus Christi. The place we stay is called The Retreat House. The Retreat House is set up for crafty people to come & do crafty things like making scrapbooks. The house is at the end of a country road with a pond in the back. It's secluded and so quiet. We go twice a year & I relish every minute of it- not just the time to lay out all of my pictures & put them in books in cute ways, but the time to catch up with Liz and all the girls that I have gotten to know and just love. We cook for each other, critique each other's lay outs & share the pictures of our kids. I've never met most of their kids (since they all live in Pearland/Friendswood), but I feel like I know all their little personalities and I would definitely recognize them from their pictures. We leave the house usually only one time for amazing Mexican dinner at Los Comales. I crave their stuffed, fried avocado. Yum.
So... here are a few of the layouts I did this time. I have a "Sports Book" for my boys. Sorry there is a glare from the plastic cover on the pages, but you can get the jest of it.

Our next retreat is in October. I can't wait!!

Procrastination give you something to look forward to.

For my birthday my friends at work gave me a book called Wit & Wisdom of Women by Hallmark (I guess). Anyway, it has a bunch of witty quotes full of wisdom (obviously). So -what was my point? - oh yeah, I'll be including these quotes every once in a while. That first one (by joan konner) is my acknowledging the fact that I haven't blogged in a while.
Birthday- Yes, I turned 36- Officially on the other side of my thirties. Wow! Reality. Not that I think I'm old yet, but I think I realize that it is going to happen. I actually think that life just gets better. I have found confidence and security with age. Enough sap. Here is a quote from my new book about getting older:
Age is all imagination. Ignore years, and they'll ignore you.
~Ella Wheeler-Wilcox
But I really like this one.
Inside every older person is a younger person- wondering what the hell happened.

Boy have I digressed from what I wanted to tell you about today: My Monster Hunters!
This morning after breakfast I could hear these two scheming. They were packing their backpacks with all kinds of junk. So I had to inquire as to what was going on!
Me: What are ya'll doin'?
Justin: We're going Monster Hunting!
Me: Really? Whatcha packing for the hunt?
Will: We've got toys & weapons!
Me: What kind of monsters are you hunting?
Justin: You know, bears & stuff.
Me: But bears aren't monsters, they're animals.
Justin: We know... but they attack!
Me: Oh well, I'm glad you're prepared!
